This model is of the Royal Navy offshore patrol vessel (OPV) HMS Leeds Castle (first ship of the class) and HMS Dumbarton Castle just after commissioning both ships were rushed to join the Falklands War, on the long journey south both showed really good sea keeping abilities in very rough weather, during the war both saw extensive service which they carried out exemplarily. Developed from the Island class fisheries protection vessels but being capable of carrying a Lynx or Sea King helicopter.

The hull is a very stable round bilge design with fine bow entry and good flare forward, fitted with R/C. and twin 545 motors she has a good performance on the water, the helicopters can be built from ordinary plastic model kits. A nice size to build a good scale model with excellent rough weather properties, suitable for beginner or expert alike.
