Prototype history (click)
Boston typhoon had a long and varied career. Built at Lowestoft during 1948, with the official number of FD 272 with an overall length of 137 feet.
After five years service she was sold to Norway in 1953 and renames “Rollanes”. She served for a further fourteen years under this guise before eventually being scrapped in 1967.
